What data we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may process the following types of data:
- Email address, if you create an account
- Account sign-in information needed for email sign-in or Google Sign-In
- Firebase user ID
- Financial planning data that you choose to enter in the app
- App settings and preferences
- Family Sharing membership or invitation information, if you use that feature
- Messages you send for feedback or support
- Reminder and notification preferences
- Premium entitlement or subscription status, if Premium is offered
Money Comes and Goes does not currently use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs.
Local streak and score logic is currently app logic inside the app. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or third-party analytics.
Local financial data
Money Comes and Goes is local-first.
You can use the app without creating an account. In Free mode, your financial planning data stays on your device by default.
That includes the planning information you enter, such as budgets, accounts, categories, recurring items, reminders, settings, and similar finance-planning content.
We do not upload your financial planning data unless you choose to use a Premium feature that needs cloud storage, such as sync, backup, restore, or Family Sharing.
Firebase Authentication
If you create an account, Money Comes and Goes uses Firebase Authentication.
This supports account sign-in with email and Google Sign-In. We use it to identify your app account and connect optional account-based features to the correct user.
This may include your email address and a Firebase user ID.
Firestore cloud sync
Cloud sync, backup, restore, and Family Sharing are optional Premium features.
If you turn on those features, the app uses Cloud Firestore to store the data needed to sync or restore your planning data across devices and to support Family Sharing.
Firestore is used only for Premium features. It is not used for Free local-only financial planning data.
Depending on the feature, cloud data may include items such as:
- Accounts
- Budgets
- Categories
- Recurring items
- Settings
- Family Sharing structure
- Other planning data needed for sync, backup, or restore
Family Sharing
Family Sharing, also called Family Together, is an optional Premium feature.
When Family Sharing is active, the family owner’s dataset is the canonical shared financial space.
Invited members may view shared accounts, incomes, budgets, categories, planning data, status, analytics, and automation results, and may edit shared data only where the app currently allows it.
Personal data outside Family Sharing remains separate from the shared family space.
Only join a family you trust, because the shared space is intended for people who want to plan together.
If a member leaves the family, is removed, or the family ends, access changes according to the product lifecycle and the account state in the app.
Family-owner access is part of the product feature and is what makes the shared family space work.
Family Sharing is not designed for public money comparison, wealth ranking, or comparing real financial status between users.
App operator / support access
The app operator currently has technical administrative access to the service database. This means the operator may technically be able to view stored account and financial-planning information.
Such access is not actively or routinely monitored and is intended only when reasonably necessary to provide support, maintain or secure the service, investigate abuse or technical problems, comply with legal obligations, or protect users and the service.
Operator access is not the same as family-owner access and is not a normal product feature for browsing user finances.
Where possible, access should remain limited to what is needed for the specific task.
Feedback and support messages
If you contact support or send feedback, we may receive the information you choose to send.
This can include:
- Your email address
- Your message
- Information about the problem you are reporting
- Screenshots or details you choose to include
We use this only to answer your request, help solve problems, and improve the app.
Please avoid sending passwords or other information that is not needed for support.
Notifications
Money Comes and Goes can use local notifications and reminders.
These reminders are meant to help with planning habits, recurring items, and other app-related reminders.
You can control notifications through your device settings.
Premium and in-app purchases
Money Comes and Goes may offer one Premium subscription that unlocks the full Premium experience.
Premium may include features such as:
- Cloud sync
- Backup and restore
- Family Sharing
- Future premium features
If Premium is offered through Google Play, Google Play handles the payment transaction. The app may receive the purchase status or entitlement information needed to unlock Premium features.
Advertising
Money Comes and Goes does not show ads.
Money Comes and Goes does not sell your financial planning data.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect user data.
Your financial planning data remains on your device by default unless you choose a Premium cloud feature.
If you use cloud features, those features rely on Firebase services to store and transfer the data needed to provide them.
No app or cloud service can promise perfect security, so you should only store information in the app that you are comfortable using for personal financial planning.
Account and data deletion
If you created an account, you can request deletion in two ways:
- In the app, if the in-app delete-account option is available
- By emailing: moneycomesandgoes.app@gmail.com
When your app account is deleted, we will delete the account-linked cloud data for Money Comes and Goes unless we must keep limited information for genuine security, fraud-prevention, or legal reasons.
If you only used the app in local-only mode, your data may exist only on your device. In that case, you can remove it by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
If you are the owner of a Family Sharing space, deleting your account may also remove the shared cloud dataset connected to that space. Invited members may lose access to that family space as part of the current lifecycle.
If you are an invited member and you delete your account, your access to the family space ends from your account. The owner may still keep the family space active for other members, depending on the current product state and lifecycle.
